comment to Obasco

If you catch my site, I just want to tell you that your slut bird is just the female of the house finch family. Sorry to burst your bubble about her being free and easy with other "race, color, and cread" The girls are very plain and will look much like a sparrow but you will probably see some white markings on her wings. Only the boys show off with the pretty heads. And they are known for their singing. So enjoy the music, You of all people should enjoy the music. Especially in that rain. love your site. dc

New books

"We are born into a world controlled by unseen forces that have plagued and manipulated humanity for thousands of years. You may look around and think that what you see is "real",. But in truth you are living in an illusion-an illusion designed to keep you in a mental, emotional, and spiritual prison cell." This is from the jacket of a book I bought today that looks really good. Children of the Matrix by David Icke. How an interdimensional race has controlled the world for thousands of years and still does. Sound pretty far out there but I love reading this stuff, really makes you think and realize see how these theories can be so true. A second book I bought is Kabbalah, Key to your Inner Power, by Elizabeth Clare Prophet, one of my favorite authors.
I think it would be fun if we did a sort of book club, as I know there are alot of avid readers out there. We could do one of two things, Maybe all read the same book and discuss it or each one do a little book review of a current book we are reading or just finished. Could be any kind of book. Maybe pick a day of the week to report or just random. Any ideas on this?

I am looking forward to the next party, it will be on tile laying. Something I am really interested in learning how to do. Did buy a set of paint brushes, They have plastic molded handles to fit your hand, look very durable. Got to get in gear and do something productive here at home or maybe not. dc

My interview with EM

Ok you know the rules so will jump in with questions and answers
1. Do you believe in reincarnation?

Most definately. It is the only thing that makes sence. I just don't know why western religions do not embrace it. Well I think I do but that is another long topic. But for me it explains so much. I believe our souls are eternal. We choose the incarnation that we are in to learn lessons and maybe to help others learn their lessons. I heard something once that has stuck with me about our soul and relationship with God. Imagine God as the heart of a sparkler, you know like the one that kids play with on the 4th of July. He is this center of light, and all the tiny little bits of light are us. We are individual yet a part of the center light or God. I think that is the message that churches don't want us to believe, that we are a part of God not just lead by God. Anyway I think reincarnation explains many things like homosexuality. Think of it, if our souls are of both sexes or no sex, just pure light and energy, then when we incarnate we can be what ever we want to be for that life. Also all the tragic things in the world can be explained, why people suffer, die young, bad people live long life, while good people die early. IT is all for a reason, Well I could go on and on. But you get my meaning. It is a subject I have discussed with very few people.

2. If you were to choose a new career what would it be?

That is funny because other than a highschool dream to be in the Air Force, I never thought I would have a career. I grew up in the middle of the era of Suzy Homemaker, where you got married, stayed home and raised the kids, and the Career woman imagine. I never intended to end up being an RN and working all my life. I sort of fell into nursing. Back in 72 I was working as an aide in a little bording home and the gal that ran it was studying to be an LPN. She was the one who influenced me by telling me I could do this too and told me how to apply and how to get a grant to help pay for the class. So the rest is history. I went back to school in 86 to get my RN degree. So I guess you could say I am an accidental RN. For someone who never intended to work for a living I have worked pretty hard. So I guess I have no skills for any other career. Just looking at winding down now and would like to do some traveling someday and take some more college classes, for fun. Would love to take a course in Mythology and have thought of taking classes in holistic health/nutrition.

3.Discribe how your close friends view you and how accurate are they?

Well to be real honest, I have never felt I had many close friends. I have alot of "friends" But I have moved so many times in my life it has been hard to get very close to anyone. I guess the "best" friends are the ones you grew up with who knew you as you were developing who you are. But as years pass those become distant and the miles make it hard to keep up. The current friends would mostly be the people I have worked with for 6 years. A couple I have shared confidences with. I think they see me as honest, mature, dependable, sometimes to dependable, and independant. I think that is how I view myself also. But I have to say that I do have a sadness that I don't have that close girlfriend relationship with anyone. I feel that I have missed out on something.

4. Discribe a single event that has had a profound effect on your life.

In Nov.1978, my husband told me he was cheating on me with a woman that I thought was my friend. I still remember the feeling in my gut that was a physical pain. That moment changed my world forever. I am not saying we had a perfect marriage, but I had assumed we would stick together forever. We were married 14 years. I had trusted him completely and never ever dreamed that I would ever be divorced. But the resulting divorce was one of those blessings in disguise. Because thru all the pain you do grow and it has shaped me to be who I am today. When I was dating my AC, I asked him what attracted me to him, and I was amazed that he said that he saw me as an independant woman who was not out trying to find a man who could do maintance on her car. {Well guess who does maintance on my car} ha ha.

5 How did you and AC meet and fall in love?

OK now you are really going to get personal aren't you? Well your mother was in on it. In the spring after school was out I moved from Ia to So. Mo. Both of my sisters lived there and I didn't know where else to go, but had to get away . I was there about 6 mo. and I got set up on a blind date. Your mother was working with a gal in a resturant, This gal, Mary had a boyfriend named Chuck, Chuck had a friend named AC. Guess Chuck looked out for AC and they found out that your Mom had a sister who was not attached. So they all fixed us up. So it was 3 couples. Your Mom and her guy, Mary and Chuck and AC and I. Cross my heart, it was my first date since I was 16. I still get teased that I didn't even know what to order to drink. So I was given a wine cooler. Later I bought cowboy boots and we learned to two step and went dancing alot. I firmly believe that we were matched by design, {or I was just ready and would have fallen in love with anyone ha ha]. But I don't think I am the type that could have dated around alot. All I can say is that I am so glad I found him before I reached my peak!!! Shocked huh? I had always been atracted to "older"men for some reason. And he is 15 years older. It just seemed that we met each others needs completely. He had been married once 20 years before for a short time. So he had been a bachalor for along time. Took over a year to get him to marry me. So that is my story. I have slept with 2 men and married to both. Sounds pretty dull huh?

Thanks for your questions, they were very thought provoking. I am working on questions for HG>

Added question for Meg

CHAPS MY HIDE

we met a gal at the gym this morning who was a real hoot. She is oriental, an 8th grade school teacher, and she kept using this term that I found hysterical. So now when something bugs you just say, "Well that just chaps my hide" Isn't that funny? or does it chap your hide? dc

Why Blog??

Em asked a question awhile back about why do we blog.
I just want to add my 2 cents worth on the subject. I personally have been having so much fun with this. I have started checking out other peoples sites. The other day I figured out how to see how many "hits" I have on my sites and have been amazed. Who would think. I really only want to do this for me. Sometimes there are things that just belong to YOU and this is the thing for me. AC doesn't know how to turn on the computer so it is MINE<> So guess that is the reason I find it so appealing. But it does seem addicting. So is that good or bad?
I have so enjoyed getting to read posts from my neices and getting to know them better. We all grew up so different and did not know each other but I am seeing such similarities in the way we think, so is that genetic. I bet it isn't a coincidence. So there you have it. Just wanted to share this. Now some computer geek tell me why these sites don't have spell check to catch my typo's??? dc

My interview from Meg

See prev post for interview instrustions.
Questions:
1. When you were growing up, what did you want to be (professionslly)?

During high school I really wanted a military career. When we had Career Day in the gym, I drooled over the Air Force tables and info. I think that is what I really should have done. But fate stepped in. The folks wanted to move to the east coast to live with my oldest brother and I was "in love" at 17 and didn't want to go. So talked them into letting me into getting married and staying in Ia. The rest is history, as I dropped out of school a few mo. later. Married girls in class was really frowned on back in the 60's. No sports, or other activities, like band even. I was active in FHA, and was to be president the senior year. I did try years later to get into the reserves, twice. Once after I finished LPN training, but no emotional support on the home front to follow my dream. Later in 1987 after finishing my RN degree, I persued it again, this time with full support from AC, even if I wanted to go in full time. I could have taken basic and been a commisioned officer. But the school I graduated from was not National League of Nursing Accredited so after going thru all the testing got shut out. Even went to the Col. to appeal and try to get a waiver but no dice. Of course later when they needed nurses in the Gulf War I bet they would have given a waiver. Added note. because of my efforts the college saw a need to get the accreditation and they did. So that was my dream career.

2.What is your idea of perfect paradise?

I think a world where we are all developed spiritually to a similar plane. We have such dispariety now. People who are so cruel, insensitive, and careless. I try hard to not be a pessimist, but get so discouraged when I see such total disregard or respect for each other and our world and resources. It just seems so simple to me that we should love each other and have respect for each other. That would solve alot of the worlds problems. huh?

3.Would you rather fish along a river bank or go shopping IN THE MALL with an unlimited expense account.?

Well I like to fish BUT I am female so the answer is obvious but the Mall would have to have a huge hardware, home decoration store, I could spend hours browsing at Home Depot!!

4. Is there somewhere in the world that you always wanted to go that probably won't. Would you move there if you could?

Right now I really want to go to Peru, and may have the opportunity next summer on a tour. AC has no desire to leave the country, and is worried about my safety, but if I really want to do it I know I can. I have been very interested in Old cultures and their history. I am sure I was there in a prev. life. No, I would not like to live there, but would like resources to stay in different countries and learn more about old world culture.

5 Can you play a musical instrument? Or are you artistic in any way?

Hey that is 2 questions. I took piano lessons as a kid from the neighbor one summer. so I know where middle C is and can play chopsticks, Thats about it. I do have a beautiful dulcimer and joined a club about 10 years ago and could play a couple songs but you have to practice and stay with it. So not really very musical, can't sing either. Artistic, I like to create things I am always trying my hand at different things. Can knit, crochet, counted cross stitch, but get bored to soon. I really like woodworking and feel my talent is more in that direction. In fact I am going to a Ladies Tool Party next Sat. Will give you all a post on that later.

OK Em you got me going pretty long winded, You did good on the questions. I will start a new post with your questions. I still have to think of no. 4 and 5.. ha ha dc.

To M

You can have a garden, if you have sunshine in your state... Did you see the upside down tomato plant in the bucket on my other site. It is really growing. Should be interesting. All you need is a place to hang a bucket where it gets sun. You could be creative and paint the bucket with sunflowers or something. Also the containers for the patio works well.
We had to go buy new pump and filter for the fish pond. That is over $100 just for a few gold fish! plus the algae eating bacteria you have to buy to keep the green stuff down. But I love the little pond. Someday when me move back to Mo. going to get a dozer in and make a real pond out in the pasture just So. of the house and plant weeping willows and cattails. Always wanted a pond there and we decided we would go for it this time around.
Going to get the book you recommended. Got my dr. apt moved up to today so will see how that goes. There is one pharmacy in town that will mix the bioidentical hormone cream, but the one with estrogen, natural, still has to be prescribed by a Dr.
Cold here this morning, the furnace actually kicked on. Was down to about 40. At least I don't think it got cold enough in the nite to frost anything, It can do that in June here. We have baby pears and peaches on the trees. Haven't seen any apples yet. We have 6 fruit trees in all. Well I have rambled on. Going to go practice copy/paste. Love dc

I love it when I'm right

Meg, where you been all week, you must be the one who has a life!! Wind is blowing wild today with sand blowing, making quite the mess of things.
Hey I love it when I am right. The other day we were in the nursery and Al insisted on buying some cucumber plants. We like the burpless ones that get nice and big, great for salads. Anyway we had planted some 6 days before because we couldn't find the plants, I was feeling real grouchy and wanted to know why he was buying plants, and he said well the seeds might not come up and the plants are hard to find. Guess what on day 7 right on schedule we got a full 6 ft row of cucumber plants poking their little heads up. na na na I was right. Made we want to do a little jig.. But at least he admitted that we are going to have alot of cucumbers to give away.
We sold our big tent trailer this weekend. Decided no need to hang onto it since we will be spending all our vacation time in Mo. The folks who bought it, have a 12 week old Queensland red healer pup. Looks exactly like Mollly did at that age. She was so sweet. We don't see many of them and they had ordered her from Colorado, which is where we lived when we got Molly. Small world huh.
Speaking of small world, there is a gal at work who is retiring and just bought a home 15 miles north of our place in Mo. She used to live there and is moving back too. Wish it was us moving. Just have to be patient. Bye for now. dc

Aura

I did the test, aura, is blue, says I should be a NURSE> Can you believe that, I just can't figure out how to past it here on the blog. Help me someone. dc

Latest hormone saga

Well I bought the saliva test kit from a company here in town called Vitamin Research. They develope and sell suppliments worldwide. Anyway I will be sending it off Mon. So am anxious to see what the results will be. I got the kit that will test estrogen, progesterone, testosterone, DHEA, and cortisol. Since being on the estrogen patch this past month, I have had good results, no more hot flashes, sleeping good, no more PVC's, But there it ends, Have had side effects too, tender breasts, no wt loss even with diligent dieting for 4 weeks, on low carb, which has worked well for me in the past, fingers swelling, Very irritable, just ask Al. ha ha. no kidding, and the last couple weeks I notice my hair coming out alot more than just normal shedding. I read the info with the estrogen and those are all side effects. Great..... Got to be a better way. I know I need the balance with the progesterone, but am wanting to wait till I get the test results and consult with my Dr. I would like to get a natural estrogen prescribed in a cream that I can adjust the amount to how I feel the best. So that is my plan to get to where I need to be. It seems funny to be going thru all this now, when I have been on hormone replacement for years in the form of pills, but never had very good results. Only for a few months, them the flashes would be back and sometimes worse than ever. I just trusted my Dr. and he would increase the dose or change brands. Well enough of my health issues. Just want to share my experience in this area. dc

Sharing

When I have a little more time, I want to do an entry on what I believe to be "truth" for me. "What I know for sure" to quote Oprah, I love her. But time is short today so just want to say that there is a reason that this sharing has seemed to snowball, we may not know what it is but the time is just right in our lives to bond together and share our stories and lives. Meg, a huge thank you for leading the way. We are all growing at our own rate, and now I feel that it has excelerated. Maybe because we are all getting older and see thru different eyes. Maybe it is something in the drinking water, who knows ha ha. But I know I love it and look forward every day to learning more about my family. We can teach each other so much, till next time. dc
